The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Transforming Education: Opportunities and Challenges in the Digital Era

This study examined the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in transforming education, focusing on its opportunities, challenges, and ethical implications in the digital era. A quantitative research design was applied and 240 respondents in the form of students and teachers were selected and sampled using structured questionnaires. The results were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, multiple regression and Chi-Square analysis. These findings indicated that there was a high positive correlation between AI application and transformation of teaching and learning processes (r = 0.682, p < 0.01) that is, AI can enhance personalization in the learning process, teaching effectiveness and engagement. The multiple regression analysis results were that the opportunities of the AI such as individualized learning, accessibility and automated assessment played a significant role in enhancing the educative outcomes (R2 = 0.549, p < 0.001). The Chi-Square test has shown that the issue of challenges, such as data privacy, digital divide, and algorithmic bias, were highly interconnected with the ethical concerns (kh2 = 19.334, p < 0.01). The research came to the conclusion that although AI has significant potential in the context of contemporary education, ethical, infrastructural and policy-related issues should be thoughtful to implement sustainable and inclusive integration. The results can be of use to teachers, administrators, and policymakers who want to use AI to provide effective and equitable learning opportunities.
